I'm playing house sound at a Baptist church where we understand that the Greek word baptizo means immerse. Our pastor expressed his desire to improve the sound quality by using a headset microphone and wireless transmitter. I expressed my desire not to ruin the expensive DPA mic and Shure UR1 lav kit. Our solution is an Aquapak case, our Shure TX, and a $20 Pyle dual-ear head mic. The case keeps the Shure dry, and if the mic gets wet while fully submerged, we'll cut it open. You can experiment with the old balloon trick on the microphone element. I definitely recommend the Aquapak case, but strongly recommend removing the clip from the mic cable when not in use, otherwise the insulation may be destroyed.
