I bought a 1TB module. If you're like me, you've uploaded reviews to maximize performance per dollar. According to the numerous reviews I've read, this card ranks very high in this regard. I assumed I would buy that particular card, but that's doubtful. BUYER WARNING: The only similarity between this card and the card in all the reviews you have read is the Phison E12 controller. The current model no longer uses Toshiba flash memory. Instead, it uses flash memory from Unic, a Chinese flash memory manufacturer. I googled the chip label hoping to find some specs but no dice, this flash memory is virtually unknown to google. To top it off, the DRAM buffer now consists of Nanya DDR3 modules, the longer the faster the Hynix DDR4. At first glance this looks like a classic bait and switch, but I *can't* confirm that as I haven't tested this new twist. Basically if you buy this you understand that you are going for performance as all the review sites have checked the older version with Toshiba flash and DDR4 buffer. I think if SP is going to make a major change to SSD components, rather than sweeping the changes under the rug and hoping no one notices, they will reflect that change with a different model number or version suffix. I'm really curious how this card compares to the older one in terms of performance, but figured I wasn't going to be a guinea pig; I will choose another SSD brand for my new build.
