I've bought several tape measures looking for the perfect one for my bag when I go to the hardware store, sawmill or furniture store. This one is good but not perfect. For a 10 foot tape that will fit in your pocket, either Komelon 3110 or Stanley 33-115 will do. Komelon 3110 is 1/2 inch wide so the band is stronger and easier to expand than Stanley. The Stanley is only 1/4" wide so it fits in your pocket and has a much smaller volume. But unfortunately it's flimsy and the metal latch on the end tends to break easily. The big problem with Komelon is that it doesn't locks. Yes, I know they call it "Touch Lock", but you have to CONSTANTLY touch it for it to lock. Essentially, you're holding the button with your thumb. This is usually fine, but sometimes you have to possibly repair the tape. You can't do it with this. The two tapes are basically the same price so you can't decide based on price. As a recommendation, I think I should go for the Stanley 33-115 - buy first. Then, after the little tab comes loose, buy another one and decide which one you like best. If you're like me, you'll be on the fence too! Stanley, make that rider stronger! Comelon, make a padlock on your " touch Lock" band! Then maybe each of the tapes meets our standards. Ha! :-)
