Update June 2021: My two SOW-4 devices are still working fine. You are completely silent. No questions. I run one for 3 blue dots and the other for 4 blue dots because there are more and they are getting too strong for my 75 gallon freshwater DT with 9 discus in it. Today I'm ordering a SOW-3 for a moving media swamp. Old Review: I bought their SOW-8 version for my 60 gallon fresh water tank. It needs a wave generator because of the high construction, the water will be quite stagnant and algae will grow. SOW-8 is too, WAY too powerful. He uprooted the plants, the water almost ran over the edge of the aquarium if I pointed the wrong way. Even at the slowest SOW-8 setting, that's too much. I am returning SOW-8 and received SOW-4. That works great. By the way, the SOW-8 was very quiet. I also tested the wireless pairing function between SOW-8 and SOW-4. Works perfectly. The only thing that bothers me is that the light sensor is built into the controller. Instead it should be on the wire. So I need to keep the controller away from a place where the light from my LED can fall on it. Everything is regulated, speed, impulses, night speed is regulated separately. Nighttime disables fancy stuff. I love it!
