What a unique toy! I watched my 5 year old great granddaughter play on this adorable track and was surprised to see that although the three penguins went back to back up the escalator and shared the same track, they were actually "rushing" down the easily accessible track. build a treadmill. The penguins are weighted evenly, which helps them get closer to the track when they reach the top of the flashing, rainbow-lit stages. There are 3 penguins: red, blue and black. They have spikes on either side of their small bodies that cling to the escalator as they climb the stairs. The spikes also keep them from falling off the track. You have the option to play with or without carnival music. Even when the music is off, the track continues to play. "We" both like to play with him. It doesn't come with 3 AA batteries but costs $14.95, buying multiple batteries justifies the price of this great toy. Originally I was looking for a track for their collection of Matchbox cars; but they were all out of my price range. If you're looking for a great toy for 3-6 year olds (or toddlers who don't put things in their mouths), then this toy is a great choice. I plan to buy more of these toys to give to friends as gifts or to donate to a local charity over the holidays.
