Review on πŸ“ž Panasonic Cordless Phone System with Link2Cell Bluetooth, Voice Assistant, Call Blocking & Answering Machine - 2 Handsets - KX-TGD562G (Rose Gold/White) by Sarah Dionne

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good. Poorly. My review.

Neat phone system. It has a few useful features and a few less. It's been a long time since I had to buy a cordless phone and I have to say, with the huge advances in technology, like smartphones, cordless phone systems are stuck in the 1990s. This Panasonic KX-TGD562G is no exception. Really 3.5 stars. Cons: * The menu is sluggish. Whatever you choose, it will take some time to show up on screen (it's a micro time consumer). * The phone book call button takes multiple steps to access group or list entries and again is sluggish. Note: Grab your coffee and prepare to spend some time manually entering phone book entries, like I did.* The sound quality during a call leaves a lot to be desired. An old transistor radio comes to mind. It's passable, but haven't they figured it out yet, I mean, right?* Have an instruction manual handy. There is something to remember and something to get used to. Quick menu codes come in handy when you can remember them all. * Answering machine display is so bright red I bought some LightDims...much better now. * Voice message sound quality appears to come out of a tin can. Even with volume controls, voicemail messages can sometimes be difficult to hear or understand. I stopped using it. Pros: * Link2Cell works well and is easy to set up. * Good range of calls from the base without dropped calls. * Beautiful appearance of the device. * The phone feels good during a call. * The screen is good and informative. * Call blocking is a nice feature. According to Panasonic's website, this KX-TGD562G model is one of their 'latest' phone systems, so I took a chance on buying it. I've been using it for a few months and despite its limitations, it's a good enough phone that I've decided to keep it. Cordless phones don't have many high-end technological advances or many worthwhile purchase options that I've found while researching. Yes, Link2Cell is an advance, but basic phone functions require some care. Ratings for this type of phone should be at least 4 stars or higher and yet they continue to disappoint. I've had V-Tech cordless phones for decades. I particularly liked my last one, but it stopped registering entries in automatic menus. Reviews of the new V-Tech phones seemed underwhelming and unconvincing. And here I am with my first Panasonic phone. Am I happy about it? Not really. But that's not too bad either... it will do. Can I recommend this phone system? I think I'd probably say yes, given what I researched before buying.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
