I'm a bit short for my office chair and in general I like to raise my legs when I'm sitting, working, having lunch, feeding the kid, etc. This is the ideal height for me and it will be very durable when filled with extra books I had to store etc! It's not high enough to be a real stool, but it's great for me to achieve a more ergonomic sitting position (it's been recommended to me by colleagues and recommended to others!). I have several for different rooms in the house. Because they're so affordable, I don't mind if they get colored (inevitable with kids and pets). The fabric on the top tends to pill (lint?) but I just use a fabric razor to clean it and it looks great again.
