Review on πŸ’ͺ AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 Black Edition: 6-Core Processor with Unparalleled Performance by Michal Cedronski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's not a bad product, nothing extraordinary.

This family of processors was one of my top picks, but it ended up being the least lucky (in my opinion) of my AMDshniki purchases. Tolerating the heat generated by the Athlones and Phenoms 250, 435, 440, 650, 710, 945, and 970 was no problem, but the unfinished TurboBoost presents a new challenge. The default (stock) configuration is terrible. The only solution is to turn off Boost in the BIOS and push the computer's hardware to its limits. Question! For what purpose is this Boost, exactly? A year ago, I spent $5800 on an i5 3570 that includes TurboBoost technology because, unlike FX, it is a machine and it actually works. I don't care if Intel is twice as expensive as AMD in the future since I'm done waiting for a better deal. When it comes to AMD assaults, I used to defend them, but now I've had enough. When an HD7770 and 8GB of RAM are combined, the average World of Tanks frame rate can reach 60 frames per second.

Pros
  • cold
Cons
  • "pseudo-core". There are equivalent to 4 cores, or 4 blocks of 2 cores. nothing gets pulled in the "drain" His budget doesn't allow for 5100r. max 4000r.!
