This is an excellent modifier

This is really an excellent modifier with quite thick material. Putting together was quite easy, I didn't have any issues. They don't put any instructions in there, however, I watched 1 youtube vid on how to do it, and I was set. Its simple enough if you pay attention to the vid, and I probably had it set up in about 15-20 minutes. and I'm not a hardcore photog at all. The hardest part was putting the spines in. It takes quite a bit of strength to bend them in place but it can be done. Don't worry, you will NOT break those things because I was bending to beat the band! I can certainly say that after doing all that I really don't want to take it apart again! At ay rate, the modifier is big at 70 inches. I'm 60 inches tall, and its certainly bigger than me on the interior. I also want to caution that this thing is HEAVY. I'm average weight, but it still took me and a helper to get this modifier on. You WILL need a heavy duty stand, none of that standard lightweight cowboy studio stuff, use the best and heaviest stand you can for this one, you'll thank yourself later. Mine came with a bowens ring, I have PBL 300watt monolights, and this worked fab with that. I believe that it will take any speedring, so if you have a speed already then you'll be fine. Just an FYI, for those who just don't know or understand how these things are sold; it does NOT come with a light, you have to buy that on your own. think of this as the custom shade you have to buy. I did have to weigh down the stand with 10lbs in the back so it didn't tip over, but it rocked for my shoot. The light wrapped beautifully around my subject. For an outside shoot, I can see this being a problem because its so big. For me, this will be an inside only modifier. It comes with 2 light baffles. I like the small clips for the interior one, that didn't bother me a bit, but I'm a woman and have small hands. If you have big hands/fingers, yah I can see where they would be a pain in the butt. However connecting/disconnecting wasn't an issue at all.I'm not fussed about the carrier to be honest. It was fine from where I sit.I'm very impressed all the way around, with price and quality and will certainly by more (smaller) ones in the future.
