Review on πŸ“» PR-137 AM/FM Portable Radio, Local Power (120V) or Battery-Powered (Battery Sold Separately) by Michelle Vargas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cheaply built but works great!

I bought this because it was one of the few I could find that had both battery capacity and an AC plug. The material looks pretty cheap. I don't know if it will hold up if dropped on a hard floor. It's no frills, not even trademarked. Bought this for an elderly lady and didn't need a radio with a bunch of extras she doesn't need/need (bluetooth etc) which would end up making the radio overly complicated. This radio has an on/off button/volume control. It has an AM/FM selection button. There is a button to change the channel. There is a retractable antenna. As simple as radio can be. This lady only hears AM 720, which is difficult to understand in my area (the mountains of western North Carolina). This little radio picks up the station perfectly. She also likes that she can plug it in or take it with her when she changes rooms. I'm not sure if it's worth the price (in other words, this thing probably costs $5 to make); However, if you look at what's available on the market, the price is on par with other similar radios (with the bonus of an AC plug). I had no problems and was happy to find a no frills radio with an AU option. Also fast delivery.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Fading
