Reliable radio, no logo

Fast delivery. The cord is attached and stowed away inside the compartment - plus: it doesn't get lost, minus: you always have to have it with you, whether you need it or not. Requires 4 C batteries Easy to tune with the tuning knob, picks up my local NPR station that is having signal problems on other home radios. Feels solid when lifted. Satisfied! Haven't used it long enough to rate the battery life.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as good as it says it is

Buy something else for radios

The only reason I gave these two stars is because the delivery was on time. The radio reception is poor, sometimes the radio station changes from one to another and nobody even touches the dial. In addition, the volume ranges from very quiet to very loud. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this, look for a small transistor, you're much better off.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Loudness

So far, so good. on the radio

About a month has passed. It's still on the first set of batteries, so that's good. It has good sound and reception. Stations sometimes drift. It's a great size for a portable radio, not tiny but not bulky either. Very easy to use. I like that the cable is hidden in the battery compartment. Time will tell how long this will last, for the price I'm hoping to get 3 years of it.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Finding stations is so easy

Not only is it easy to find stations, there are some features I couldn't get with other radios. Digital radio drives me crazy because it cycles through every station before it gets to the one I want. In the event of a power failure or if I want to look for another room, I have to reprogram. I'm right there with the dial. I'm not an audiophile. I just want clear sound and this radio has it. It's very light which makes it "feel" cheap, but on the other hand it's quite affordable. Plus it's nice…

Pros
  • Superb design
Cons
  • Only available in black

It was the ultimate blow!

I bought this for my mum who likes to listen to the radio at night and she was running out of batteries like she had a Duracell stash! This radio has both a battery option and a direct connect option. We also bought her good headphones and that's where the problems started. Listening to the radio without headphones is great and sounds good, but when she uses headphones and rolls over in bed, she yanks the radio off the bedside table and it falls to the floor. That must have happened ten times…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

Cheaply built but works great!

I bought this because it was one of the few I could find that had both battery capacity and an AC plug. The material looks pretty cheap. I don't know if it will hold up if dropped on a hard floor. It's no frills, not even trademarked. Bought this for an elderly lady and didn't need a radio with a bunch of extras she doesn't need/need (bluetooth etc) which would end up making the radio overly complicated. This radio has an on/off button/volume control. It has an AM/FM selection button. There is…

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Fading
