I live in a high interference area, right at the border of controlled airspace, and over a lake where I fly, my Mavic Mini used to lose signal even at less than 1000 feet of VLOS distance.Also, the streaming image on the DJI Fly app got pixelated quickly at half that distance even with full controller signal bars. I snapped these things on and kept pushing and pushing until I passed the 4000 feet of VLOS distance mark, much further than my Mavic 2 Pro can go before fully losing signal. I decided to hit 5280 feet as a benchmark.When I hit that 1 mile point so easily, I pushed it a bit over 6100 feet with no signal degradation and perfect streaming image on the app.At that point, I decided it was pointless to keep pushing, since I could barely see the RCGEEK 10W white strobe stuck on the Mini's bottom in the afternoon light, and the antennas proved themselves.To me, the money spent was worth it, because losing controller signal and command of the drone is not only frustrating and inconvenient, it's something the FAA doesn't like.
