Having tried several of these small fans in the past I was a bit skeptical. The ones I've seen before made as much noise as air. This is almost silent at low frequencies, very quiet at medium frequencies and I would say unobtrusive at high frequencies. The fog feature is pretty amazing. Apparently it uses an ultrasonic transducer rather than a pump. There is no visible hole in the middle of Mr. The mascara is very comfortable and effective. I used it in my boat for the first time today. It was 98 degrees but dry air. I was perfectly comfortable in the cabin with this fan on low speed and the Gentleman on intermittent speed. I sat about 4 feet from the fan and was only slightly damp. That was great. The only drawback is the small water tank. It should run for 2 hours intermittently, but mine won't run that long. I haven't timed it yet but I think it's an hour or maybe a little less. The tank only holds half a glass of water, so it won't last long. The clamp looks strong. The suspension allows you to install the clip and direct the fan in any direction. The detachable battery is a handy feature that allows you to leave the fan installed and remove the battery for charging. The fan also runs directly from a 2 amp USB adapter with no battery installed. Another thing I learned is that if you don't close the little rubber cap on the Mister, water will leak out. Nothing spills when the lid is closed. I am very happy with the fan and have recommended it to two of my friends. Update - I calculated the fog cycles. It only ran 28 minutes intermittently and 17 minutes non-stop. Based on the water flow given in the product information, it should be operated for two hours intermittently and one hour continuously. I contacted the seller and received a prompt response that my water consumption observations are considered normal. I was a bit disappointed with the short duration, but I still keep the fan running. It is quite easy to build an additional water tank from a plastic bottle and a small diameter (5mm) flexible hose (see attached photos). The tubes are pushed through tight fitting holes drilled in the lid. It is very important that the lid is tight. The short pipe is the vent, the long pipe is the siphon. The long tube goes to the bottom of the bottle and to the bottom of the aerator tank. The vent tube ends just below the bottle cap and fan cap. Fill the bottle, tighten the cap, place the bottle over a fan and start the siphon by blowing into the vent tube. When the water level in the fan tank reaches the vent pipe, the siphon will stop. When the water level in the tank drops by about half, the siphon turns on again and fills the fan up to the level of the vent pipe. Be careful when inserting and removing the tubes as there are some tiny tubes inside the fan tank that can be easily pulled out. With a 16oz bottle along with 200ml in a fan I can now run it in intermittent mist mode for 90 minutes. One star deducted for the misleading display for mist duration, but I still recommend the fan.
