They work great but pull out a lot of hair. This is a learning process, so take your time to avoid injuring yourself and pulling out excess hair. I recommend misting your hair gently with water to keep it slightly damp. When the hair is too wet it is almost impossible to stretch it. After that, heat with a hair dryer, then let cool or leave overnight and VOILA, you have waves. I have LOTS of hair so I needed 5 more strips which I just reused the very first one I applied.
