These lamps are flicker-free and slightly larger than normal lamps. I use them in a table lamp in the office with some plants underneath. Plants can survive and even thrive on two of these bulbs. I also used one of the bulbs in my kitchen ceiling light and it illuminates the whole kitchen with bright white light. I personally would not use these lamps in the bedroom just because they are too bright, but for the office or kitchen they are perfect. They can stay on for more than 9 hours although they get quite hot. I would not use these bulbs in an enclosed ceiling light as they could cause a fire. If you are looking for a very bright, flicker-free, pure white bulb, then these bulbs are for you. The upside is that plants can grow from at least two of them, although they're probably not the best at it.
