I bought these on my way to Afghanistan because my platoon sergeant recommended them. Well, they're waterproof, but terrible for your foot health. Aside from that, what you're really worried about getting wet are your boots, as your feet dry out easily. I would recommend all wool socks, especially merino wool. They're antimicrobial, retain 80% of their warmth when wet, and dry quickly. This is just a piece of clothing that you don't need and will regret wearing on a regular basis.
