I have had an iHome clock radio for many years. It was wonderful. I wanted a newer model so I ordered this one. Great size, good design. Love the fact that you can set an iPhone-only alarm and it will play through the iHome Dock's speakers - there's no need to set an alarm on the iHome at all. However - I've had it for two weeks and the iHome is behaving badly. Every once in a while the iHome radio has trouble detecting the iPhone when it's docked. Although the iPod icon is displayed and iHome is in ON mode; I can't use the iHome buttons to pause, stop, or play a docked iPhone. The iPhone doesn't even recognize that it's connected to the iHome Dock. This error occurred almost every other day and was frustrating. When I called iHome tech support they said the problem was with the iPhone. To solve the problem, you need to hard reset your iPhone. It solves - for a short time. Then everything starts all over again! I don't want to restart my iPhone every day as it has a lot of memory and storage space. My old iHome plays my iPhone perfectly (no reboot required) when having this issue on a newer iHome. So I doubt it is an iPhone issue. Another downside is that the battery charging time takes three times longer than the old iHome model. This item will be returned.
