Great screen with a few small controls

Building a cinema I knew I needed a motorized screen for kids and screens are a disaster awaiting. When it comes to motorized screens, there aren't many options to choose from. I went through all the reviews and found that in general most people are happy with the Spectrum. I bought a screen and mounts to make sure everything is secure. Unfortunately, I was about an inch tall when installing the brackets, which caused the screen to screw up a bit on the side. 5/5 SCREEN: The screen material is really good and goes well with my projector (Epson 6050ub). Colors look vibrant and even with a bit of light coming in from a nearby window I still have no trouble making out details. 5/5 MOTOR: The motor is great, it's not very loud (in fact it sounds exactly like what you hear in a real theater), it doesn't take long (7 seconds) to reach the optimal position. 3.5/5 CONTROL: There are many screen control options 1) Wireless remote control. I had two problems with the remote control. First, none of the buttons are labeled and are just three circles. So when you first look at the remote, you'll have to play around until you realize that the top button is for move up, the middle button is for stop, and the bottom button is for push. The second problem is that you have to point the remote to the far left of the screen or it won't register. It's a bit annoying. As a side note, the response time when pressing buttons is slightly delayed. 2) Wired control panel. It connects directly to the shield via the RJ45 connector located under the shield on the left. The buttons for this weren't labeled either, but the shape of the buttons made it clearer what each was doing (that's how I learned to use the wireless remote). As mentioned, the fact that you plug it into the bottom of the screen is irritating to the eyes. 3) Projector trigger control. It consists of two parts, one part connects directly to the screen via an RJ45 connector, and the other part you need to make yourself. You will receive a semi-finished cable, to create it you need to cut the AUX cable. It is then inserted into the trigger slot on the back of the projector. I haven't done this yet, but I'm confused as to why Elite Screens can't do it for us already.? 4/5 INSTALLATION: Installation isn't difficult, but if you're not completely accurate with your measurements, you may end up like me where the brackets don't line up 100% accurately, resulting in the screen looking diagonal hanging from the screws . Although there were no problems with the display. Another important point to note is that if you are using Elite Screens' additional brackets, you will need at least one other person to help you with the installation. 4/5 SHIPPING: Elite Screens uses a freight carrier for shipping. The problem was that I didn't know I had to contact the shipping company to schedule the delivery. This resulted in my screen sitting with the shipping company for a long time. 5/5 PACKAGING: Elite Screens packed the screen perfectly. This is a very long rectangular box containing an even smaller rectangular box. As a result, the screen came out in excellent condition. In general, the purchase is satisfied.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Nice screen, no curl or wave problems.
