I was really worried it wouldn't fit. I usually wear a size XL (14/16), I'm 5ft 4ft with a 42F bust. I have a pot-bellied postpartum stomach and these types of dresses are really casual. I ordered 2xl. I dropped it and immediately fell in love with it. It's soft, hugs my bust (I don't think it would have worked if my bust was a bit bigger) and completely covers my stomach, showing off my hips. The dress falls below the knee, there is no waistband, and the pockets do not increase the volume of the hips (yes, there are roomy pockets!). I haven't washed it yet but I will babysit it because I want it to last a long time.
