Review on πŸ”§ SKIL 4-Piece Brushless Oscillating Tool Kit by Tyrazz Abouzar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Neither Good nor Bad

I was looking for a different work light and oscillating tool so instead of spending hundreds on Milwaukee I settled on this brushless Skil. This got me an extra tool kit for not much more than I would have paid for a Milwaukee. I also wanted to do without brushes. The good news is that these skil tools are very useful. The bad news is that for a 12 volt kit (comparable to the Milwaukee m12 line) they are practically the same size and weight as a regular 20 volt kit (in this case the Milwaukee M18 is on the see picture). What's the point of buying a 12v kit if it's the same size as the M18/20v kits? For some this may be important. Another negative for me was the noise of the drill motor. They had a noticeable squeak when used (which may go away with prolonged use). I'm not talking about the electrical noise you hear when it's on, but the actual movement of the motor itself. especially for the DIY crowd. I really can't see myself using these in place of the matte Milwaukee as the form factor and weight (excluding the battery) are the same. I would only recommend buying these when they are on Super Sale otherwise I would recommend switching to the 18/20v range of tools as you won't see much of a difference in size or weight at this point.
