I have worn several different muslin blankets since having my first child. I always thought a muslin blanket was a muslin blanket. But straight out of the box, they're by far the softest. The material is everything. They're also large enough to be extremely versatile. They can be used not only as a diaper, but also to cover a rug or rug in a prone position and for many other purposes. They are large enough for my preschooler to use as a light blanket, which she happily does as she overheats easily. All in all an excellent quality muslin blanket.
