Review on πŸ’„ JASSINS 35 Colors Eyeshadow Palette: Highly Pigmented, Glittery, Matte, and Shimmery Shades - Sweatproof, Waterproof, and Long-Lasting Eye Makeup by Jennifer Groom

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Matte hit & miss, some great ones. Shimmer is great.

Delivery with outer carton. It is made in China. There is a cruelty-free logo, the PETA logo, but I'm pretty sure it's not actually certified by PETA. First, it says "Manufacturer: Jiangxi ShiLanYa Cosmetics Co., LTD." I searched for it on PETA's website but couldn't find anything. The Revain product label says "JASSINS 35 colors". In addition, the product page says "JASSINS" when scrolling down and "Manufacturer: JASSINS" when scrolling down. So I searched for "Jassins" on PETA's website but couldn't find anything. Second, the back of the palette box is stamped with "MFG" and "EXP". "MFG" (manufactured) is "2021.03.03". In 2015 PETA changed their logo and the one on the product packaging is old. So I'm pretty sure they just put the logo on the box and aren't actually PETA certified. I really hate it! The ingredients are listed on the back, but since the PETA nonviolence logo appears to be wrong, I'm not sure how accurate the ingredients are. That's why I hate it when they do that. Just don't wear that damn logo unless you're truly cruelty free! This is not easy to verify! And when people find out they're putting a logo on when they're not actually certified, it makes people, at least me, question the rest of the information! In any case, the front and back of the product box are identical to the front and back of the pallet. This is a beautiful design. The pallet is a standard carton package. Has a magnetic closure. There is no mirror. There was a protective plastic film on the shadows. When I opened the palette, there was no smell. It has 5 rows of 7 shades (35 shades in total). 18 matte, 2 glitter (matte with micro glitter), 13 shimmer and 2 pressed glitter colors. I have a love-hate relationship with glitter. I love how it looks when it's on, but hate how it's forever everywhere after using it! When it comes to palettes, they can still contaminate other shades even if you don't use them, so leave some sparkle in them! So I don't usually use them and cover them with a square piece of tape so they don't contaminate the other shades! All swatches are done with a finger on a clean forearm (no foundation, lotion, etc.). Each of them must hold 1 napkin. Row 1 - matte finishes were VERY difficult to pick up with a finger. I ran my finger around in circles for a while and still caught almost nothing. They hardly appear from 1 swipe. The shimmers are beautiful. The first one was a little harder to pick up but ended up looking pretty. I did 2 swipes for this. The second was easier to pick up and more pigmented. I took 1 hit for it. The last 2 shades are shades with sparkles. They absorb much better than matte and have better pigmentation, but still not great. I made 2 napkins for these two. Row 2 - After the first row I thought it was a flop. But then I looked at this series. Most of the matte colors in this range were much softer, easier to type with a finger, and had good pigment. They were 1 napkin. The only disappointing matte was the last shade in the series. It was a return to the hard, dry feel of the front row haze – it was hard to lift a finger, there really wasn't much on the finger or on the pattern. I did 3 swipes for this. The shimmers were beautiful. The third shade was metallic rather than shimmery, with a wet metallic undertone rather than the normal shimmer. And the sixth shade was great! It also had a more metallic look but I think it was mostly micro sparkles! It really is a beautiful shade. All the shimmers were applied in one go. Row 3 - I felt good in the palette after row 2, I thought row 1 was just an accident! Then I swatched the 3rd row. The turbidity in this series was 50/50. The first two mats were soft, easy to pick up with your finger, pigmented, especially the bright yellow! It was 1 napkin each. Shades 4-6 disappointed - dry, hard, poorly typed, both in the first row and the last in the second row. I had to make 5 strokes of green, 4 strokes of blue, and 5 strokes of blue-violet. The shimmers are beautiful, easy to pick up with your finger, well pigmented. They were all 1 hits. Row 4 - At this point I wasn't sure what to expect! I'm not counting pressed glitter when talking about the amount of each shade. The shimmers were all amazing. They were all 1 napkin. The first 2 shades of the series are shimmery. They are beautiful! The second is more like a metallic - a wet, metallic look. The color is unique. That is beautiful! Mats in this range were somewhere between dry hard mats and soft pigmented mats. They absorb much more easily than dry, hard mats. But they don't apply as easily as the soft, pigmented mattes. They weren't as pigmented either. I had to do 3 strokes of each matte layer in this row. Row 5 - This pattern came out pretty well. I'm not counting pressed glitter when talking about the amount of each shade. The first 2 shades were shimmery. They were nice, soft, smooth and easy to pick up. There were 1 napkin each. The rest was boring. Shades 3 and 4 were similar to the matte shades in Series 4 - midway between dry and hard and soft and pigmented. I was able to adjust them just fine, but they weren't overly pigmented. I had to do 3 punches each time. The fifth shade surprised me. He was very pigmented! It was dry and a bit rough when I put my finger in it, but I felt like I was picking up product. But I was surprised at how pigmented it is! Swatches - 1 swipe. The final shade was soft, easy to pick up on the finger and had good pigmentation. I made 1 move for this. They worked just as well on the eyes as they did when swatching. Bad mats still didn't go well with the eyes. Medium mattes were still average. All the shimmers were still beautiful. Overall the palette has great matte shades and all the shimmers are great. As for the price, it's up to you if you think it's worth it. Personally, I will deport large matte and all shimmery ones. I love beautiful matte and shimmer colors and I want to do this. Then I throw away the pressed glitters, bad and medium mattes. Whether it's worth it for you to get gorgeous matte and shimmery tones and you agree that you have some imperfections and medium tones - you have to decide! Hope this helps you!
