Review on Enhanced USB-C Dual 4K Universal Docking Station with USB C Power Delivery - SABRENT DS-WSPD by Art Porras

Doesn't work as expected.

So before purchasing I found in the description and on the Display Link website that there were serious problems using this document on a Mac with OS High Sierra, but they said there was a DisplayLink software version that would help. I finally tried it and hoped it would work, but failed miserably. Even getting a device to use Airplay is a nightmare. Airplay does not recognize the DisplayLink software even though I have allowed it in Security & Privacy settings and enabled full computer control for the DisplayLink software in Accessibility. I had to uninstall and reinstall the software 6 times before it finally recognized the Display Link Dock as a streaming device. This keeps happening as soon as I turn off the computer. Also, the latency on the USB dongle is terrible for a Bluetooth wireless keyboard reader (Logitech). The delay is more than 3-4 seconds, and at this moment it's not even worth typing. The device didn't even recognize my DVI-to-DP cable, although it works seamlessly from device to device. I had to use an HDMI to HDMI cable for the dock to work properly. Why be able to input DVI when it doesn't even work? I can't even close the lid of my computer without disconnecting it (yes it's connected to the network). The whole point of any dock is that you can use your computer's existing LCD screen as an additional display, or close the lid (latch mode) and just use external displays. The docking station seemed very promising. I understand it's "Apple's fault" that their new software messed up the connection to the computer, but waiting for Mojave to come out is just pointless. One Sabrent employee even told me to "get in touch with Apple" myself to see if there was anything they could do to let me close my lid, even if it was their product and they wanted to sell it. Be sure to buy this unless you have an OS other than High Sierra.
