I thought it didn't work, and then realized I was using it incorrectly. Works perfectly!
I thought it wouldn't work but then found out I had abused it. The cable must be passed through the hook on the bottom of the fake battery. The camera's battery compartment has a small, barely visible rubber plug that extends away from the cable and allows you to close the battery cover. The device then supplies power to the camera. The metallic power connectors on a DC power supply have a different configuration than the metallic power connectors on a battery. The camera will tell the difference once the permanent power supply is properly installed. The battery compartment must be closed
