Of course soapy water will detect leaks but let me tell you this product will find leaks that soapy water will not. I had the opportunity to use this on my tire valves and found a tiny air leak that didn't show up at all when using soapy water. This product is fantastic; It detects almost every leak and does it very well. Had I used soapy water instead of this product I would never have noticed one of my tires slowly deflating. The leak was so small I had to use a magnifying glass to see the bubbles coming out. While the leak was as minor as possible, it would have caused one of my tires to lose a significant amount of air over time. This material is not cheap, but it is certainly effective. Simply spray onto the problem area and see if any blisters form. You can use spray or flow mode. When using the spray mode I didn't see any tiny bubbles coming out of my tire. When I used streaming mode and a magnifying glass, leaking bubbles became visible. I think this money is well spent. It's a step up from using soapy water to wash dishes, and the handy sprayer lasts a very long time.
