I use this type of hat when mowing lawns and working in the garden during the months that mosquitos are the worst. This hat has attached netting which you can roll up and affix to the crown/rim of the hat to use without the netting if it is not needed - but note the netting doesn't come off the hat to be used alone - it is sewn to the crown of the hat. The crown is a little shallow - probably made for a smaller head than mine - but it fits fine enough. For a trip to the Revain or other major adventure I'd find a bigger/better hat but for around the house, fishing on a stream/lake, everyday uses - it's a fine hat.
