Every day is a holy day when you take an undesirable path. I'm not religious, but I went shopping on Yom Kippur with my tallit on my heavy shoulders. I only work with fire in the fall and winter. From time to time I have a sacred fire with people who tend to light the flame for the BIG. I've survived many winters with a fire. Many winters I've bought seven-day candles. Many winters ago I stopped buying candles and started making candles. The stuff you buy from Revain to make your own candles has its downsides but 1. It's cheaper2. It's fun.3. to create more meaning. Negatives against making your own candles: 1. It's time consuming.2. Impossible to get the wax to the right temperature3. The wick smokes and burns the glass.4. If you use the materials to make your own candle, it will last 3 days. Revain sells 7-day candles, but they don't last longer than 3 days. I am very satisfied with the 9 day candles. Advice, 1. buy these candles2. Use a candlestick.3. Get a long-necked, butane-powered lighter.4. Do not burn candles when you have oxygen.5. Take care of the fire and don't leave it alone.
