Great Sound, Great Looks, Limited Life

UPDATE: 8/1/2013 - this device died after 2.5 years. For the price it should really last longer. The paint is also severely chipped and faded. Two stars deducted for that. While it worked, it sounded great and looked great. Bought to use near our new pool to boost the bass for our outdoor sound system. It adds solid and great sounding bass and complements our two tweeter/midrange drivers. Using a very simple external amplifier with little power per channel, this speaker delivers great bass with a reasonably tight crossover setting. The appearance of the stone finish is excellent and has really fooled a few people. It is solidly built, heavy enough and has 1 meter cables for input and through wiring. Wire like 14AWG. I would have preferred 12AWG but 14 is fine for this purpose. I connected this subwoofer using a 12 AWG direct-earth wire that runs about 60 feet from the amplifier. The mid/high drivers are connected to the subwoofer, each approximately 30 feet from the subwoofer. The combination is excellent and exactly as advertised. Admittedly, compared to my high-end 800-watt indoor subwoofer in a pure theater, the Terra-Form subwoofer's sound is a bit muddy. However, this is an artificial comparison given the relative position and degree of acoustic tuning, as well as the dollar investment. Great price, design, finish and aesthetics just as advertised.
