Definitely did what I needed for my 7.3 PowerStroke. This is with direct injection 7.3. The older 7.3/6.9 doesn't need the long adapter, so there is more than one adapter. If you have a 7.3 nicknamed "Powerstroke" this is what you need. The reason I only gave three stars is how the hose ends are crimped. Using a wrench at the top to remove the tool often resulted in the clamp remaining in place rather than loosening the threads. I often had to grab the hose with pliers and once reach down with a needle. I have no idea how something hand tight would need a wrench to loosen it after half a dozen turns of the starter motor. but whatever. I don't know what brand or model of adapter I would recommend, so I would still say that you should buy this one. Just don't turn it with a wrench and it's done the job. it just could have been more impressive.
