This is a VERY hard rubber that will not easily slip into the specified hole.

Good. To install this properly you will need some kind of press. This is a VERY hard rubber that will not slip down the hole easily. I tried installing it by hand when the components were in the car, but this resulted in the rubber actually breaking between the smaller holes. I couldn't get it in and don't feel like taking apart the necessary parts to slide it in properly. I decided on a more permanent solution by purchasing 2-5/8" ball joint ends and associated hardware from McMaster Carr. I also used a 7" stem with 5/8-18 threaded ends. 60645K17192240A48294945A230
