So as described they came without upholstery. However, I read other reviews and people mentioned old clothes and old towels to stuff. But I didn't have either. Here is such a dilemma :-). Another reviewer stated that they filled their 10lbs with "Poly-Fil". So I decided to buy. I've found plenty at Local Jo-Ann Fabrics for 2 pound bags. So I bought 10 bags. So I would have 5 pockets (10 pounds) for each ottoman. Well the first one took all 5 pockets and it's good and durable just like I wanted. The second is also good and solid. However, he only managed 3 bags (6 pounds). It has a smaller diameter than the other. It doesn't make me very happy. But is it enough to return? no But enough to discourage people from ordering 2 if you want a matching set. I want the photos to accurately reflect the size difference. However, they are wonderful. However, note that if you order more than 1, they may be different sizes. I hope the seller will read this and understand that this is not normal. However, as you can see, the leather is beautiful, as is the design. This is exactly what I wanted from the design. It smells, but not sharply - you just need to sit in the hall at night, and everything will be fine. Additional note: If you want a softer footstool, simply add less Poly-Fil. I hope this helped.
