I chose the grille fan because my fixtures are off center and close to the wall so I didn't want to have issues with the blade length. Which this fan worked perfectly for. I give this fan 4 stars because I think the blades should be metal for the price, but they are plastic. It was a big disappointment. Overall, the fan seems to be producing good airflow, but it's spring here in Pennsylvania, so I won't know actual cooling performance until June/July. The second reason for 4 stars, the instructions were not very good. Unless you know how to look at a chart and understand what I had to do. Luckily, this isn't the first time I've hung a ceiling fan, so I had an idea of the basics. But it can be a bit difficult for a beginner. But overall I love the fan in the cage. Adequate lighting and no problems with the remote control.
