Honestly I didn't look at the sizes, I should have It's a little less than expected but it's totally normal. The girls (3 and 4) loved them and loved decorating them. They quickly tucked all their toy decorations into it and put them in order. There were no chips or dents in the wood. The top of both opens and closes easily, not with a snapping motion that could pinch your finger. The interior mirror is also perfect.
