This cable overheated while charging my phone - in fact it got uncomfortably hot. Luckily I noticed that before damage or fire. I left my phone for a while and then tried a different cable - same problem. If you buy them, I wouldn't recommend charging or plugging your phone in overnight without a test run. Maybe the ones I received were faulty, but I wouldn't want to risk it.
