Dinosaur Set (Full review.) This dinosaur set includes 12 detailed dinosaurs, 8 trees (2 different styles), a felt pad and a small book. See attached photos. The BOOK is more of a 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" accordion-style booklet that tells you how to pronounce each dinosaur's name and gives a few facts about each one. Just the right size for little hands. The DINOSAURS themselves are easily worth five stars. I'm not sure I like the VERY BLUE color on a dinosaur but my son and his friends loved everything about all dinosaurs. They are molded in one piece, amazingly detailed and very durable. They will withstand many tough games. The TREES are neat and the 3 year old who played with this set liked the trees the most. However, trees can easily break off pieces of leaf. If your child eats or puts something in their ears, nose, etc., you can remove the trees and put them back until they are older. The felt rug is great. It's thicker than the flimsy plastic mats found in most sets. He takes it well when several boys play with him. He was even attacked several times without taking any damage. The carpet looks more like a carnival scene with an entrance banner that reads "Dinosaur Park". The older boys liked the carpet, but wanted a place to dig and some free cages. They played with the rug briefly before moving the dinosaurs to another location in the room and setting up a dig site and dinosaur battlefield. Note. It would be nice if both sides of the carpet had different decorations. Park on one side, dinosaur battleground or dig for older kids on the other side. CONTAINER. One of the two reasons I hesitated between four and five stars for this set. It's great that it comes with a storage box. It's not big enough for a playmat. Only dinosaurs and trees are suitable. Everything has to be right, otherwise they won't fit. This eliminates the possibility of young children putting the dino in the container themselves. It's also super thin plastic. Upon arrival, the container was torn in two places from top to bottom. I asked for a replacement and the new canister has a crack. It's just too thin to hold onto. Both times the shipping boxes were in perfect condition. Both were sent in cold weather. Maybe the plastic got too cold and brittle? If that happened, even the dinosaurs tapping into it could break it. I really don't know, but I do know I've never seen a plastic container that thin. I love the pop of color that the orange handles and caps add to the container. A slightly larger, more durable plastic case will certainly boost this set's five star rating. SUMMARY I really like this set and I definitely think it's worth the price. I would have preferred a different reservoir.
