Cute bug, story could be better

This Glo Friends Bumblebug is not as great as I'd hope. The bug isn't that easy to light up for tiny hands, you have to give it a very hard squeeze. I got this for my grandbaby, who is 14 months, and he won't be able to get the bug to light for sure. What I do like about it, one squeeze and Bumblebug lights up bright, two squeezes and the light dims, perfect for night time. The third squeeze turns the light off. The book pages are a little thicker than a normal story book, but not baby…

Pros
  • Enhances cognitive development in children
Cons
  • Toy's glowing light may be too distracting for some children's comprehension

Bedtime with Bumblebug is always a hit!

This toy made me smile because it brought me back to my own childhood and the original Glow Worm! I owned one and loved it. This little guy is like a condensed, mini version of that. The box includes one Bumblebug that glows and one "Strong All Along" story book. Such a cute little set and one that is sure to appeal to little ones. Before I even removed the toy from the box, I was a little concerned. Bumblebug is a little hard to turn on. You have to squeeze him pretty hard. He is made of a…

Pros
  • Cute little book and toy.
Cons
  • Bumblebug's glowing light may distract from the story

Great, cute fun! on my review.

I thought this would be fun for my two year old and I was right! Wigglebug is perfect for small hands and safe for them to play with. The story that goes with Wigglebug is short and can keep a two year olds attention. My two year old loved the Wigglehop dance and we used Wigglebug to show her what to do. I loved the SEL component for this book because it gave a tip on what to do when you get over-excited. With tantrums a real thing with toddlers, this will give her a tool to use when feeling…

Pros
  • August 28, 2022
Cons
  • May not help with language development in bilingual children

Too hard for kid to squeeze and light up

This is adorable and my kid (2yo) likes it a lot. The book is cute though right now she doesn't pay much attention to it. She just wants to walk around with her Bumblebug. The problem is it's hard even for me to squeeze and light up -- there is no way she can do it -- so every time it turns off a few mins later I have to be the one lighting it up again.

Pros
  • Helps with hand-eye coordination and motor skills
Cons
  • May only cater to children interested in insects and bugs

Very cool concept but…

Let me start by saying I think this is a great idea and the artwork in the book is very well done! The little glow toy came with a working battery and my son loved to turn it on and off by squeezing his stomach. On the book side of things I see what they were trying to do with the message but I believe it’s not a very clear delivery in my opinion. My son just ended up enjoying the glow bug that came with the book.

Pros
  • Provides long-lasting entertainment and educational value for children
Cons
  • Toy it is overpriced for its limited function

Good story and toy - my new review

The glowing wigglebug is nice and the story it comes with is a good story. It is just a little too pricey for what you get. The wiggle bug dose light up and glow but that is it. For a book and one toy, I would expect to pay a little less. Other than that, the packaging is nice. The toy looks good as well as the illustrations. Price just a little too high for what you get.

Pros
  • We definitely are going to want to collect these now. They are so cute!
Cons
  • Designed with only one character, may lack variation for use in group settings.

Makes reading so much fun!

I ordered this book "Stink or Swim” for my 6 year old daughter as I thought this would be a great book to learn how to read, and it is! The book is so cute and fun and full of adventures! The little Bookworm toy that comes with it is adorable! When you squeeze him, he lights up (batteries already included too)! This is such a wonderful idea to make reading fun!

Pros
  • Provides a cozy and comforting environment for bedtime stories
Cons
  • May not be visually stimulating enough for children with disabilities

Love the bookworm best in my review

The glowing friend is definitely what sells this set. The story is okay, but it seems to lack a bit for me. The pictures are cute and there are a couple good messages in it at least. The book is not very durable. It has a thin binding that I don't think is going to last long around little kids. This is the type of book that we usually have pages falling out of pretty quickly. However, it is really nice that it is accompanied with a friend from the story that you can hold and play with. The…

Pros
  • Builds a strong foundation for learning new vocabulary words
Cons
  • May not promote parents' child-interaction or reading out loud regularly

Adorable Bundle best in my review

We ordered the Wigglebug (Orange) and Bookworm (Green). The Wigglebug is superior in every way. The glow feature is very easily activated and the paint quality is excellent. Our kids actually fought over the orange bug. We might have to get another. The Bookworm (Green) we received has a big flaw in the paint on its face. Additionally, the light up feature on the Bookworm (Green) takes a fair amount of pressure to activate because the tummy is deep and squishy. Our 2.5 year old twins cannot…

Pros
  • My son loves this! It has a very cute toy included and it lights up.
Cons
  • Some may find the book's story unexciting

The Kids LOVE Him SO Much! Adorable!

This is pretty much the cutest set in the universe! Want to see your kids go crazy . show them this little guy . then, light him up! Wow . do kids love this? Yes, they absolutely do! We have him in rotation right now because he has created a bit of jealousy among the kids and that probably means that we will be buying more in this wholesome collection! (Honestly, I can't say I mind one bit!)The little Bumblebug is wildly endearing with his big eyes and humble smile. And he's a strong, brave…

Pros
  • Helps children connect with their emotions and understand others' emotions
Cons
  • May not be engaging enough to promote SEL learning in children

Adorable little book with a friend

I know our Grandson will love this book! Our 14 month old Grandson loves books as we have been reading to him since birth. Blueberries are his favorite breakfast treat and this little wigglebum loves them as well. The book is small size with bright colorful pages, sure to catch his attention, also thick enough has he loves to turn the pages when we read! The light up little friend is a perfect companion while reading the book. A quick squeeze can turn him on or off The book include other friend

Pros
  • Baby-boys
Cons
  • Light may be too bright in a dark room for some children

My son loves it! for my opinion

Let me start by saying…I have an almost 3 year old who does NOT like books. I’ve tried every type of book and he just is not very interested in them. I saw this and figured it was one I didn’t try yet so might as well give it a shot. HE LOVES IT! He loves the glowing "firefly” (he calls it a firefly lol) and cracks up at when the skunk "farts” haha! So so happy I ordered this and hopefully this is the start of him becoming more interested in books! Definitely recommend and definitely will be…

Pros
  • Encourages children to read and develop a love for literature
Cons
  • May not promote creativity or problem-solving skills in children

Cute to have for preoccupied kids

I have a toddler who sp struggles to sit still during story time. I bought this so I can use the toy in correlation with the book. Anytime I read this book or any other book I gave him to toy and allow him to play along and follow along with his toy and correlation to the story. It seems to help him sit throughout the story time and also helps the parent to be able to get through the story time without the constant stops

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • Book's illustrations may not appeal to all children's visual preferences

Green gloworm with book

This comes with the green gloworm and a gloworm book. The gloworm fits in my hand, maybe 3.5"-4" tall or so. It is hard to press to turn the light on. My 3 year old struggles with this and gets very frustrated that they can't turn it on themselves. My 7 year old struggles but can light it up independently. My 3 and 7 year old aren't very interested in the book, they're more so interested in just the gloworm and who gets to hold it.It stays lit up for about 5 minutes and is made of semi-hard…

Pros
  • Toy Figures & Playsets
Cons
  • Toy's colors may be too dull and uninteresting to children

Adorable little bedtime buddy!

I wish I had this when I was a kid. This story is cute. Bookworm is afraid of swimming but learns to blow bubbles in the water. They also help out a skunk. Bookworm gets to drop some knowledge on the other creatures about what he’s read about skunks. (See my photos if you want to read the story.)The glow worm takes one AAA battery, included. It has an auto shut off and turns off after about five minutes. Press his belly once for on, again for fading in and out, and a third time for off. Great…

Pros
  • ASK FOR HELP: Bumblebug's story is all about finding the courage to ask others for help when you need it.
Cons
  • Toy's small buttons and shapes may pose a choking hazard to young children

Adorable and Giftable

Got this for my granddaughter and she the toy and the story too. She wants to hear the story again and again. It takes a little effort to squeeze the glo bug to get it to light up, so depending on how young your child is you may need to squeeze it for them so they see it light up. Playskool has been making these since I was a child and it’s nice to see a whole new generation enjoying them all over again.

Pros
  • Ideal gift for birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions
Cons
  • May not develop skills needed for future academics

So adorable! best in my review

It is a tradition of mine to buy an original gloworm for every new baby in the family. We have a grandbaby coming towards the end of the year, so I've been on the search. I found this, and while it's not the original gloworm, it was just too cute to pass up. It is even more cute in person! Baby probably won't be able to play with it for a couple years, but it will look cute on a shelf in the nursery, and Grandma has already been playing with it! The little book that comes with it is too cute…

Pros
  • Safe and non-toxic for young children to use
Cons
  • May not be engaging enough to encourage daily use

Adorable book and toy set

Our son was sick and this was absolutely the perfect mini gift to perk up his spirits. The little book, while it has paper pages which could be ripped, was a simple and fun story and outlined a little dance routine we could practice together which made it lots of fun. I know we will be doing this on repeat! The glow worm toy is fairly simple, squeeze and he lights up with a warm yellow glow which stays on for a few minutes. But for a sick kid it was a fun buddy to pull under the blankets for…

Pros
  • Teaches children about friendship and kindness
Cons
  • May not foster independent play in children

My Preschoolers FAVORITE!

I ordered this set in "Bookworm" which comes with a small light up Bookworm character and a hardcover book called Stink or Swim. I don't know what it is about this set, but my four-year-old son just loves it. He loves it so much! He has slept with the Bookworm character every night for a month now. It is easy for him to turn on and off on his own - squeeze one time to turn on bright, one more time for lower light, and one more time to turn off. It also turns off automatically after a period of…

Pros
  • Recommended by educators and experts in early childhood development
Cons
  • Toy's design may be too simple to foster creativity and imagination

Cute product good for me

My little niece LOVED this product! The only thing is she's got to squeeze the toy pretty hard to light up and she just can't always get it to light up. But other than that it's a good product.

Pros
  • 8 x 3 x 6 inches
Cons
  • Book pages may not be sturdy enough to withstand rough handling
