Necessary! ... fell apart after 6 months (updated review)

Updated June 2021: not durable. Fell apart after 6 months. The straps holding the lid are completely loose. I thought it was an accident when the first one broke. Since it's been 30 days I couldn't return it so I tried to fasten and tie the straps together. It didn't even work temporarily as the stitching completely unraveled. First, the seams of the strap parted near the buckle, then from the side facing the cover. Now the cover can no longer be used as a pad for my dog. Doesn't stick to the seat at all. I'm disappointed because I really liked this cover... will look for a more durable version so I can use it more than a few times. Original post Oct 2020: I really like it. I got it to protect the seats from my very furry dog (who likes to wallow in mud or jump in lakes). My puppy prefers to sit in the car. I think its structure makes her feel safe. She's a big dog, so she doesn't have to worry about slipping off the edges of her seat to get comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It fits perfectly in my small sedan that I was worried about. It's not as thick/durable as I expected, but I think that's why it fits so well on different vehicle types. Window straps are a bit of a hassle when dressing, dressing and undressing. My dog is so impatient that he doesn't want to wait for me to open the sides (he literally jumped out of the car with the zippered side), so I usually leave one side open so I can unzip it quickly.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
