I received this controller as part of a product evaluation for a company. I haven't had them for a super long time, so these are more or less first impressions. All in all, at just over half the price of an official pair of joy-cons, I'd say it's a great option to at least try before you buy a set from Nintendo, with a few caveats depending as you like .use them. PROS: I really like the color of these controllers; They give me an Animal Crossing vibe. I like that they work in all modes of the Nintendo Joy-Cons - handheld, as a single controller with wrist straps (*they weren't included), and in a holder. I use them more often in portable mode. The buttons all feel good. I launched Breath of the Wild for a quick motion tracking test and they responded well. to the cradle (I probably don't understand how the cradle works, but it would be cool!). So far I've charged them by plugging them into my Switch, although I have a third-party charger that can handle up to four Joy-cons at a time that they also fit on. I haven't had time to test the battery life yet. I was a little surprised at how clicky the D-Pad was, but my husband told me it was normal. NEGATIVE GUESSES: I personally don't find the stand configuration as comfortable as the actual Nintendo Joy-con stand. I can feel my little fingers curling around the controller in such a way that over time my fingers become tense and my hands small. The protrusion on the back of each controller doesn't seem big enough to me, so I think it holds my palm and fingers at an awkward angle as my fingers sit on the protrusions instead of gripping them like a Nintendo cradle. What I don't like about them is that the rumble lacks nuance. It rumbles at full power for everything. Where it would normally be a low rumble when you shake a tree in Animal Crossing, it rings out with full force. I found this quite annoying for a game like Pikmin 3 where it's constantly buzzing. Any game that uses HD vibration (e.g. Mario Party) will not work for them. One small thing they can't be blamed for is that they don't work with amiibo, in case anyone was wondering.
