This thing can detect live circuits (not sure about dead circuits, haven't tried it). He does an excellent job of finding stallions. It also has a magnet in the base to help with alignment. The level itself is a great feature, it really gets to the point, shows you the angle and is a great tool for hanging anything you can hang, in my case I made a closet lol. I especially liked the fact that it came with a rechargeable battery. It was easy to understand and use, my girlfriend is now at my senior level who only recognizes studs lol. I would definitely buy it again if I needed another level.
