No assembly required unless you drill holes in the bottles making the project very easy to complete. The corks are easy to swap out (I bought three sets and ended up using one of each size as all three bottles had different hole sizes). I've made lamps out of expensive tequila bottles so I didn't want to risk damaging the bottles by drilling holes, but will probably try this process on a cheaper bottle in the future. The fittings are well made and don't feel cheap or crappy. One of my bottles had a larger neck than the largest cork that came with it, but I solved the problem by putting a rubber band around the outside of the cork. Good and inexpensive lampshades with the Uno mount are easy to find and fit well in sockets. I will definitely be making more of these in the future!
