This does have thick cushions, but they are very stiff. I have used it for a while and it is better than a regular chair, but it has taken me a while to figure out what is wrong. I think the issue is that the seat angle is too flat. When I sit on this chair my weight is concentrated at the front of the seat instead of being distributed across the entire seat. If I change my balance so that I am sitting flat on the seat cushion, then knee pad digs into my calves in just one spot. The angles don't seem to match up and this makes the chair less comfortable. I wish I could find kneeling chairs locally so that I could try them out before I buy.
