Of course I only needed one, but I didn't know what style I wanted. So these three packages were ideal. Also, it was about the same price as the singles. When I received it, I compared it with my mirror and chose the one that matches my mirror. They were definitely metal. They had a rough surface which I think helped with the gluing process. There was no sticking with this product. It had to be purchased separately. I used it with the stock mirror on a 2001 Dodge Dakota. When the windshield was replaced for some reason they never fitted the mirror and that bracket was missing. Additional parts will likely be offered for a flea market next year.
