2008 Ram 2500 Laramie

One of the three metal brackets FITS my Dodge Ram 2500. My mirror has come loose, possibly from too much sun and the metal bracket may have fallen into the defroster air duct. I used "The WELDER" heavy-duty all-purpose adhesive; holds well, strong, I've been using the tube for more than a year and it hasn't dried out.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • poorly designed

OEM only is rubbish

This is complete nonsense. No matter what, even after polishing the 000 and soaking it in alcohol overnight, they didn't last my mirror an hour before falling off. The material is rubbish and doesn't stick to the adhesive - the adhesive always stayed on the windshield. I found the original part at a junkyard and it has been stuck to the windshield for the last 3 weeks after a thorough cleaning without any problems. .

Does the job: body and trim

If you need a wedge mount to reattach your rear view mirror, one of these might be the right choice. I haven't had much luck with so-called mirror adhesives, but E6000 automotive/industrial material seems to work well with them. Sand the bracket with sandpaper, wipe the windshield with rubbing alcohol, apply a thin layer of glue and press against the windshield for a few minutes to attach. Secure it with a piece of tape and let the glue dry for at least 24 hours.

That's them.

Of course I only needed one, but I didn't know what style I wanted. So these three packages were ideal. Also, it was about the same price as the singles. When I received it, I compared it with my mirror and chose the one that matches my mirror. They were definitely metal. They had a rough surface which I think helped with the gluing process. There was no sticking with this product. It had to be purchased separately. I used it with the stock mirror on a 2001 Dodge Dakota. When the windshield was

Easily make your own ReMount mirror!

Don't pay a mechanic $200 or more to replace a fallen rearview mirror with a windshield! Get these "standard" mounting brackets if your mirror uses them and follow the instructions on the "mirror adhesive kit" available at any hardware store. You can do it yourself! These 3 options are perfect for the Ford Explorer multifunction rear view mirror with headlight dimming control. I had to glue a lot to the disc and the new mirror mount worked wonders. (Don't forget to sandpaper the sticky side a…

2008 Toyota Highlander with auto dimming rear view mirror

Worked on my 2008 Toyota Highlander with auto dimming rear view mirror. I've tried all the popular 3M rear view mirror adhesive, Loctite and Permatex and none of them lasted more than a week. Eventually I just used the Loctite 2 part epoxy and it worked like a charm. When Dorman's new rearview mirror mount arrived, I sanded it with fine sandpaper and then cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, being careful not to touch it. I also rubbed rubbing alcohol over the area on the windshield where the new
