This was a modest upgrade from the MSI Motar motherboard without Wi-Fi. There was no sound on my original board. I was able to get it to work through the Bose USB sound system, which I hate. Sounds good but is a major annoyance as it keeps shutting down. I was considering getting a USB mic but since I paid full price I decided to return it. There have been a number of issues with the sound drivers on these motherboards. I decided to upgrade the board, but MSI was one of the few that provided Micro ATX 9.6 inch square MB for my tiny case/custom design. I wanted WiFi and was fed up with the USB WiFi I bought. This MB seems like a good option, but Wi-Fi has doubled the price. So when I saw this refurbished board I decided to risk it. Now my microphone works and I can use voice activation and Alexa features. So now I have a good working system and for that I just had to disassemble my whole system. THE ADVANTAGES ARE WORTH IT. One of the main improvements is that my WiFi has a much longer range. Nodes show up with really strong signals. Maybe my little USB WiFi wasn't WiFi 6. In any case, I'm very satisfied. It has a 2.5G Ethernet port. I don't particularly use it to reach its full potential. One of the reasons I upgraded my original B450 to this was to use the latest PCIe slot for 10G Ethernet connectivity. Action. The TrendNet 10G SFP+ card worked with the Aquantia driver but appears to have reverted to the Marvell Felicity network driver. I'll let it work with that and see how my 10G connection holds up. I go around the whole house and connect to the shed with fiber optic and Cat8 (I have a good deal at 1000ft) and plan to set up a second computer as a NAS with my old B450 MB. I've always wanted to upgrade to a larger, full-size ATX B570 motherboard, but I don't think I'll ever need it. Packed with the aforementioned motherboard, a Ryzen 5950X processor, Noctua air coolers, 64GB of storage, and a blazing-fast M.2 card, this little case gives me performance comparable to the starting left-wing Threadrippers without the huge power and thermal issues. If you have any doubts about buying these refurbished MBs I can tell you that I am very happy with the price and performance. I got built-in Wi-Fi for about the price of a new board without it. If you are interested in the case I used for my build. it reads as follows: GOLDEN FIELD M3S ITX Mini Computer Case with Tempered Glass Side Window I downgraded my rating to 1 star because MSI is more interested in collecting my personal information than providing a link to the manual. They are idiots. Why do I have to fill in all my personal information and look for the serial number? YOU SHOULD HAVE LINKS TO EACH PRODUCT MANUAL. I OPENED FIVE WINDOWS TO FIND THE MANUAL. FIVE FUCKING WINDOWS. I HAVE TO CHECK ALL KINDS OF MODELS, THEY ARE NOT IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. YOU WANT TO BROWSE HUNDREDS OF PRODUCTS. GO IT. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THESE IDIOT AGAIN. YOU ARE BRAIN DEAD.
