I go through one of these every 2 years. There's no way around it. We are "daily testers" of our water, and our pool is always perfectly balanced, so it's not "extreme chemical use" that's destroying these things. It's just cheap plastic--even the 16 mil version. The face of the "bubbles" wear off, leaving tiny circles of plastic floating in the pool and the filter. No matter what we do, this thing wears out every 2 years like clock work. Worse part of it all? The last time I bought this, it was $100 cheaper. Seriously? I think I'll go back to NOT using one at all and see what happens.
