I bought this paper three years ago and since then I've mainly used it for Christmas gifts, but also for gifts with birds and flowers for birthdays, baby showers, etc. People LOVE paper. It is thick and comfortable to wrap. People used to very flimsy wrapping paper will probably have trouble working with it, I can understand the criticism, but really as long as you're careful to only cut the amount you need it's not awkward. This can happen if you try to fold too much paper at the ends.
