I have been living in the US for 1 year now so I needed everything I usually have at home but minus the price tag as it is only a temporary need. I'm picky when it comes to bedding and read a lot of reviews before I buy them. I certainly notice a difference from the expensive one I use back home in Australia, but I love it and sleep in bed with it on much better than without it. This reduces the warmth of my mattress - currently I use Zinus memory foam which feels hot without it. It doesn't make any creaking or plasticky noises while you sleep, and is barely noticeable except on cooler sleeps.
