Fun for the whole family

A birthday present for a 3 year old nephew. He played with it more than a plane glider. Surprisingly, the foam has survived (still flies) countless flights, falls and kicks on its wings. He was able to wipe off some of the paint by pushing it into a bush before his father could stop him. Again left unattended he was able to remove the clear protective nose cone but we reattached it. He threw it in the pond and it was quickly found / didn't get wet while still flying. The 8-year-old sister flew long distances much more successfully. She and the adults enjoyed operating it with a rubber band accessory. His father and uncle managed to shoot off the lower flight stabilizer (the manufacturer supplied decent double-sided tape) by throwing a Styrofoam airframe at it; can be easily reattached. Having to put the wings back into the body after hard landings after a long period of hard use, but he is still happy with it. If he didn't give up, he'd run him across the yard pretending to fly. Lasts longer with an older, less violent child (and older adults!).

Pros
  • The included launcher will easily elevate your model up to 30 feet or more, depending on the wind. Only one person is needed; After setting it up on a lawn the size of a baseball field, simply pull the bird model back, point it into the wind, and release. The model is gently pulled like a kite and then automatically releases the line in free flight. Just grab the end of the line on the ribbon and repeat! You can experiment with the length of the retreat, but it usually takes 8-10 steps.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
