These parts contain thin, low-strength wire. It doesn't have a "spring" action that will hold a heavy bun in place. Made cheap. The stitches are uneven, the fabric is cut unevenly by the stitches. The biggest problem I have is that if you don't have a double joint, you can't twist your long hair behind your back with your hands. My hair is waist length. I can't get the hang of wrapping the entire length behind my back (although this isn't a design flaw - it's just impractical for very long hair). I'll have to ask a friend to help me, and that kills the do-it-yourself aspect. At least the package wasn't a $12 waste. I will give them to friends who have short hair. If your hair is just shoulder length or slightly longer, it should work.
