Review on πŸ’½ 256GB JetDrive Lite 350 Storage Expansion Card for 15-Inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display – Transcend (TS256GJDL350) by Staxy Asedr

Good memory expansion, but .

I bought the 128GB version of this card to use on my MacBook Pro. It sits comfortably in the SD slot flush with the side of the laptop and is barely noticeable, and since I also use Transcend cards in my digital camera and haven't had any issues with them, I felt comfortable using one of their cards as expansion storage. .I bought this specifically to store the raw digital images my family takes when traveling for processing so they don't take up space on my primary SSD which is only 512GB. The card works well, albeit noticeably slower than my SSD, and I've found that some photo editing programs have trouble processing images when they're on the card. Since the card is designed to be placed semi-permanently in the SD slot (it can be removed, but since it sits flush with the laptop's body it takes some effort), I can't just copy photos directly from the either SD card of my camera. . This prompted me to buy a USB SD card reader. So some good, some bad. The card is a nice size (although 256GB would be nice), works well and its use is fairly transparent as nothing sticks out the side of the machine. On the other hand, there are issues, although these aren't issues specifically with the card itself. Overall mixed but mostly positive. A good choice, but with some downsides if you have limited SSD space.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
